A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed with the Boyarka City Council

We are continuing to expand our cooperation within the Boyarka community. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today with the Boyarka Town Council. The Memorandum provides for cooperation in improving the community’s safety, particularly for children and young people who are unprepared for the new challenges of wartime and lack sufficient skills to respond to them. The NGO ‘Velyka Sima’ works in the social, humanitarian and security sectors. As a certified mine action operator, the organisation educates adults and children on the risks associated with explosive remnants of war (ERW/EORE), and providing support to war victims, veterans, their families and other vulnerable groups. There are plans to organise training sessions, workshops, seminars and awareness-raising events for children, young people, staff at educational establishments and other members of the community. Another key area of the organisation’s work is to facilitate the implementation of the National Strategy for Reforming the Institutional Care and Upbringing of Children in the Boyarska community, and to help strengthen the community’s capacity to develop family-based care for orphans and children deprived of parental rights. The collaboration also involves the exchange of expertise, engaging Ukrainian and international partners, developing information materials and implementing modern digital monitoring and alert systems. The memorandum was signed by Oleksandr Zarubin, Mayor of Boyarka, and Serhiy Chutkyi, Chair of the Board of the NGO ‘Velyka Sima’. The collaboration will be coordinated by Hanna Salamatina, Administrative Manager of the Boyarka City Council’s Executive Committee, and Serhiy Chutkyi, Chairman of the Board of the ‘Velyka Sima’ NGO.

Training on strategic and operational planning.

🎯We have updated our vision in light of the new challenges and problems posed by wartime. Work is in full swing on developing the organisation’s new three-year Strategic Plan and one-year Operational Plan, complete with indicators and monitoring metrics. 💪We are confident that, with an up-to-date organisational strategy, we will be able to do even more to help children affected by the war. 🙏This project has been made possible thanks to the support of ISAR Unity’s ‘House of Civil Society’, which operates as part of the project ‘A Strong Civil Society in Ukraine – A Driving Force for Reform and Democracy’, funded by Norway and Sweden. The content of this publication is the sole responsibility of the NGO ‘Big Family’ and does not reflect the views of the governments of Norway, Sweden or ISAR Unity.
